PUTTING PEOPLE FIRST!
I am seeking the Federal Conservative Party Nomination in Calgary Skyview
LET’s Defeat the liberals and turn Skyview to BLue again!
I am committed to defeating the Liberals!! That is why I am running for the CPC nomination in Skyview.
I believe in the values and policies of the Conservative Party and I am determined to fight for them in order to bring about positive change for all Canadians.
I am dedicated to working hard and earning the trust and support of the people of Skyview, so that together, we can defeat the current Trudeau government and move towards a better and stronger Canada.
I am Josephine Pon. I have had the honour and privilege to serve as the MLA for Calgary-Beddington and as Alberta's Minister of Seniors and Housing. My wealth of experience with hands-on public service at all three levels of government, Canada Mortgage & Housing Corporation and banking has prepared me well to represent Albertans effectively at the federal level!
I am committed to being your voice and fighting for you in Ottawa! Since May, my dedicated volunteer team and I have been working tirelessly, knocking on tens of thousands of doors across the newly redistributed Calgary Skyview riding, connecting and listening to constituents’ concerns and issues, and sharing my action plans and goals if I get elected as the MP of Calgary Skyview.
If elected, I will prioritize the following:
Reduce taxes
Promote prosperity in Alberta and increasing job opportunities
Focus on reducing affordability and bring back powerful pay cheques
Improve the current broken immigration system
Solve housing crisis and control government's wasteful spending
Eliminate the legalization of narcotics
Strengthen the community safety and ensuring a prosperous, safe future for the next generation

About Me:
I believe in “fighting hard to make Canada a better place.” I have had a long career in banking, including working in personal and commercial lending and leading multicultural banking across the prairie provinces and worked at CMHC for housing over 9 years.
I have also volunteered for over twenty years in nonprofits organizations, including as the Board Chair for Immigrant Services Calgary. I was also honored to work on the Mayor's Task Force to Eliminate Poverty in Edmonton to help vulnerable communities.
As a landed immigrant from Hong Kong, I was truly fortunate to have a good career and family in this wonderful country and I have faith in “taking from society and giving back to society” when other people need help!
Political Achievements:
During my time as Minister of Seniors and Housing and MLA for Calgary-Beddington, I helped the constituency of Calgary-Beddington secure over $1.3 million for community improvement, I also completed Alberta's Ten-Year Affordable Housing Plan, launched a Five-Year Senior Services Plan including prevention of elder abuse project, and supported initiatives in Chinatown and across ethnic communities.
As Calgary Skyview grows, I want to enhance the community and create a strong, healthy and enjoyable environment for all. Let us build a better future for our children and our community together.
Together, Let’s Bring It Home!!
Josephine Pon

Experience: After several years in dealing with the federal government in a provincial ministerial role, I know that my experience in government, in both the public and private sectors and volunteerism with charities will be valuable in advocating for your interests at the federal level. I understand how the government functions, the legislative process, and how to navigate bureaucracy effectively.
Knowledge of Local Issues: As a former provincial minister, I have a deep knowledge and understanding of local issues Albertans face. I can continue to advocate for these issues, ensuring that they receive attention and resources at the national level.
Network and Relationships: Over my tenure in the provincial level as a former minister, I have developed strong networks and relationships with other politicians, community leaders, and stakeholders. I can utilize these connections and leverage them to advance the interest of our community at the federal level whether it is for securing funding for infrastructure projects or influencing policy decisions.
Track Record: I have a proven track record of accomplishments and initiatives during my time in office with a history of effectively representing constituents and delivering results!
Familiarity with the Political Process: Serving as a provincial minister requires a deep understanding of the political process, including negotiation, compromise, and coalition-building. This experience is valuable in the federal arena, where similar skills are essential for advancing legislation and achieving policy goals.
Potential for Influence: Former provincial ministers may have a greater influence and visibility within the caucus at the federal level. This can translate into a stronger voice for your community in shaping policies and decision that affect you.
Continuity: As a former provincial minister from the same political party as the federal Conservatives, my selection can provide continuity in governance and policy direction between the provincial and federal levels, facilitating cooperation and coordination on shared priorities.
Ultimately, it is important to compare all candidates on various factors, including their qualifications, track record, alignment with your values and priorities, and the high importance of this upcoming federal election. I strongly encourage everyone to carefully evaluate my experience and educational background and compare it against the other candidates!
